چکیده

Background:Multimodal analgesia is given to alleviate postoperative pain in fracture neckfemur.Present study done assess the effectiveness of fascia iliaca compartment block for post operative after surgery femur fractures. Aims & Objectives: 1) To effect on at rest and with movement 2) duration 3) TO analgesic requirement Methods: Afer approval from institution review board committee, this prospective randomised observational was conducted our institute taking informed consent each patient. Total 60 adult patients (ASA I/II) aged 18 70 years, either sex undergoing bone under subarachnoid were included. Sub arachnoid performed sitting posture strict aseptic precautions theL2-L3 or L3-L4 space using 23G Quincke needle 3.5ml 0.5%Bupivacaine (hyperbaric, dextrose 80mg/ml) all patients. Patients randomly divided two groups, Group A (n=30): The FICNB group received ultrasound guided 0.25% bupivacaine 30ml end operation. This study investigate the efficacy of pre-operative pain treatment for patients with hip fractures using fascia lliaca compartment block (FIB) technique performed by junior registrars (JR) as a supplement to conventional pain treatment. The FIB technique has routinely been used pre-operatively in the emergency department since 1 January 2004 for all patients with hip fractures. Over an 8-month...

Pharmacokinetic Profile of Plasma Levobupivacaine Following Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block for Proximal Femoral Fracture in Older Patient

Background: Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block (FICB) is commonly used in older patients to provide effective analgesia following hip fracture.  Objectives: However, only limited Pharmacokinetic (PK) data about levobupivacaine are available to help clinical practice and establish safe volumes and amounts of local anesthetics. Methods: Ten patients aged between 53 and 87 years, who underwent hemi...

Role of Preoperative Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block On The Side Of Femur Surgery

Background and Aims: Different kinds of adjutants are used with local anesthetics during intrathecal procedure for prolongation of action. However, they are not completely free from side effects. Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block (FICB) is useful for the same purpose. Method: After administering 20ml 0.5% injection Bupivacaine in FIC (Fascia Iliaca Compartment) on the fractured side before anesth...
